Charming Bed and Breakfast & Cottages in the Cotentin Peninsula
Restful and revitalizing holidays in Normandy
Escape to Normandy’s best-kept secret
Stay in one of our three charming holiday cottages or our guest rooms, nestled in the peaceful countryside of the Cotentin Peninsula, just minutes from the sea. Whether you’re planning a romantic escape, a walking holiday along the spectacular coastline GR223 or a relaxing nature break, Maison Melchior is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the authentic charm of Normandy.
Located on the west coast of the Cotentin, Maison Melchior is surrounded by unspoilt landscapes, sandy beaches, dunes and dramatic cliffs. The famous GR223 coastal path “Sentier des Douaniers”, tiny harbours, local markets and the D-Day landing beaches are all within easy reach. From here, you can also discover Barfleur, Saint Vaast la Hougue, Cap de la Hague, Cherbourg and many of Normandy’s hidden gems.
Our carefully restored eighteenth-century farm buildings combine traditional character with modern comfort. Natural materials, soft colours, comfortable beds and thoughtfully designed interiors create a warm and peaceful atmosphere throughout the property.

The house is a former farmhouse built in 1732 and operated until 1975 by the Melchior family, after whom this unique property is named. Its typical Cotentin architecture will not leave you indifferent.
Exploring the estate is an adventure in itself : discover the washhouse, the old henhouse and dovecote, the pigsties, the bakery and bread oven, and the old stables…
