Holiday Cottages Cotentin

Restful and revitalizing holidays in Normandy

Escape to Normandy’s best-kept secret

Looking to slow down and reconnect with nature? Welcome to the Cotentin Peninsula – Normandy’s best-kept secret.

This unique region offers a perfect blend of unspoilt coastline, fascinating history – from prehistoric times to World War II – and timeless charm, with granite villages and wide open landscapes.

On the west coast of the peninsula, discover Maison Melchior: a peaceful retreat nestled between sea and countryside. Just a short walk from the ocean, this beautifully restored 18th-century farmhouse is set in a quiet hamlet, surrounded by a one-hectare landscaped garden.

Whether you’re visiting for a long weekend or a week away from it all, Maison Melchior invites you to enjoy the rhythm of the seasons, in a place where time slows down.

Love hiking or surfing? Interested in history, nature or local culture? The Cotentin offers endless opportunities for adventure and discovery — all in a setting that remains refreshingly crowd-free.

Slow down at Maison Melchior — a cosy hideaway and the perfect starting point to discover Normandy’s best-kept secret.

Gîte cotentin Normandie

An extraordinary garden near Vauville

Spanning nearly one hectare, our garden stands out with the various landscapes it offers to travelers, and the variety of tropical species that thrive there thanks to the Gulf Stream.

The new hidden gem of the Cotentin

The house is a former farmhouse built in 1732 and operated until 1975 by the Melchior family, after whom this unique property is named. Its typical Cotentin architecture will not leave you indifferent.

Exploring the estate is an adventure in itself: discover the washhouse, the old henhouse and dovecote, the pigsties, the bakery and bread oven, and the old stables…

In 2025, Maison Melchior will offer two cottages for 2 people and two guest rooms.
