Maison Melchior is the perfect place to stay while exploring the Cotentin.
Want to visit the Cotentin?
In this article, we’ll give you all the great reasons to book one of our gîtes if the Cotentin is your next holiday destination!

1 - A strategic location to explore the Cotentin Peninsula.
Maison Melchior is located between Barneville-Carteret and La Hague, just 800 meters from the Sentier des Douaniers (GR223), on the west coast of Cotentin.
This prime location puts you in the perfect spot to explore and enjoy this untouched region, free from mass tourism. Whether you’re into hiking, water sports, or cultural and historical visits, you’ll find plenty of activities for your next holiday!
To explore the Val de Saire on the east coast or visit the first D-Day beaches, it’s just a 45-minute drive. And if you fancy a trip to the Anglo-Norman islands, we’re only an hour away by boat!
2 - A super cosy gîte.
We’ve designed the house and its amenities to make you feel right at home: large windows letting in plenty of natural light upstairs, a decor with natural tones and raw materials, cozy cushions and throws, books, and two-player games… everything is made to help you unplug and recharge.
The kitchen: We’ve thought of everything! Kettle, toaster, dishwasher, wine glasses, champagne flutes, filter coffee maker, Nespresso machine, pantry staples, dish towels, dishwasher tablets… it’s all there!

3 - Authentic owners
I was born in Cherbourg in the 80s, grew up near Barfleur, and have been living in La Hague for over 10 years – I know the Cotentin like the back of my hand!
I love my region and am always on the lookout for great tips, new restaurants, and activities to try. I’m happy to share them with you!
No key box here: I greet you personally, take the time to show you around the garden if you wish, and I’m happy to listen to your ideas for visits !
4 - A peaceful and preserved environment.
You have access to the landscaped gardens, spanning nearly 2 hectares.
Nature is everywhere – take your time to explore the gardens, whether for a coffee, a nap, or some reading…
